North Carolina Symbols

Introduction

All states have symbols to represent all the different aspects of the area.  State symbols are specific to the state they represent; however different states can have the same state symbol.  Each state has a different list of symbols (for example:  not all states will have a state shell or a state saltwater fish).  Each state symbol is nominated and must be approved by the State Legislature before it is official.
