Parts of speech

Introduction


This is a simple grammar webquest about the parts of speech. You will in groups focus on a specific wordclass

The webquest is intended for students who has been introduced to the Parts of Speech before. The idea is to make them easier to remember for the future as many students often for get about the different wordclasses.

Task

  1. In groups of three you will get one of the eight parts of speech.3

  2. You will then find information about your specifc part of speech and make a helping card no bigger than A6 which explains the word on a way that makes it possible to quickly identify what wordclass it is.

  3. We then Print out  each card a number of times equal to the number of students in the classe and collect them in bundles.

  4. Afterwards we have a little quiz in which you can use your bundle of helping cards to see how effective they are

  5. In the end we laminate the bundle and press a hole in the corner to add a keyring.

Try and find something you can remember your wordclass by.

Find some words in your wordclass that are commonly used and make use of them in sentences.

The assignment is all about writing down how you remember the wordclass and pass the tricks on to your classmates.

Evaluation

For each workclass tell how you can tell them from the others, what they do in a sentence and write down 5 words from that part of speech:

Now we should all have a small bundle to help us identify the parts of speech and we have just used them so we know how to.

Now we can move forward. Next time we will look into the Subject, Predicate from the last video a little more.
