You are going to listen to the book I Wanna Iguanna, research a type of pet that you want, and write a persuasive letter to your parents.

First, you will listen to the story I Wanna Iguanna.

Then, you will go over the vocabulary from the book.

Next, you will research a type of animal that you want. 
Then, you will take notes on important facts of your animal.
Next, you will watch a video on persuasive writing.
Then, you will complete a graphic organizer that will help you write your paper. 
Next, you will write a persuasive letter to your parent.
Finally, you will present your paper to the class.

Part 2:

Use these websites to research a type of pet that you would want to have.

Part 4:

Use this graphic organizer to help you fill out important reasons you want your pet. Be sure your reasons are specific. 

Part 5:

Now use this letter template (PAGE 4) to write your letter to your parent. Be sure that you include your reasons and evidence. Remember you are trying to convience your parents into letting you get this pet. In order to do that you need to have good reasons and evidence to back it up. 

You will need print ONLY page 4. 

Part 6:

Reread and edit your letter as you see fit. Use this checklist and ONLY page 2 to check your letter with. You will need to print ONLY page 2 and staple it to the back of your letter.
