Propaganda in Animal Farm

Introduction

Propaganda is the distribution of information in an effort to influence or manipulate society’s opinion. Propaganda plays a really important part in the Russian Revolution. As a result, propaganda was also one of the main themes in Animal Farm.

George Orwell’s novel Animal Farm is a satire of the Russian Revolution and its corrupt leaders. In the story, the leaders of the newly formed Animal Farm use propaganda to convince the other animals that they are all being treated equally, when in reality the animals are being fooled by a corrupt group of power-hungry pigs.
