Introduction
Over the next few days, you will be researching various aspects of the Puritansm Era.
Task
In preparation for reading Arthur Miller's The Crucible, you will be expected to research various events and aspects of Puritan life, in the 1600's. You will also explore the authors' biographies and relate them to the literary themes to be studied.
Using this webquest, you will obtain information about the following topics:
- Daily life in Salem in the 1600's
- Puritanism and Government
- Witchcraft
- Witch trials of 1692
- Biography of Arthur Miller
- Characters from The Crucible
You will need to write the answers to questions on a separate piece of paper.
After each person has researched on the various topic above, you will be assigned to a group and asked to create a poster synthesizing the information you shared.

- Describe a typical Puritan meal. How did their food and eating habits reflect thier religious views.
