Introduction

Yummy yummy in my little tummy! Lets find out what’s good and what’s bad for our body? In order to grow big and strong it’s important to put certain foods into our body such as fruits and vegetables. Hearing fruits and vegetables might sound scary and gross but by exploring different fruits and vegetables using our five senses we can learn a lot about different fruits and vegetables and be able to explain why we do not like certain ones. In order to find out what fruits and vegetables we like using our five senses students are going to be placed into small groups of four. In these groups the students will begin to explore the different types of fruits and vegetables and begin understanding the different shapes, colors, taste, feel and sight of fruits and vegetables that the students will be eating.

Task

Students will be going on a fruits and vegetable hunt detecting different types of fruits and vegetables by using their five senses. The students will be finding out that different fruits and vegetables come in all shapes, sizes, color, taste, feel and sight. The students will be given a two sheets of paper one for fruits and one for vegetables. On these two sheets of paper there are five columns for each sense. The children will write or draw what they tasted, saw, heard, smelt, and touched.
