A noun is a word used to name a person, animal, place or things.

Examples: boy, city, school,Martha, etc.

                                                 Proper Noun

                 -is a name given to individual people, places etc.

 

 

Proper nouns begins with a  capital letter.

 

Examples:

 

Martha is a pretty girl.

God created man.

Manila is the capital of the Philippines.

 

 

                                                Common Nouns

                -is general name of a name, place, thing, animal.

 

Examples:

The boy is eating.

The market is wet.

 My comb is lost.

The cat is sleeping.

 

                                                     Number

                                  - there are two kinds of number.

 Plural

 Singular

 

                                                      Gender

                                    - there are four kinds of Gender.

 

 Feminine- denotes for girl.

 Masculine- denotes for boy.

 Common- denotes for girl or boy.

 Neuter- no sex.
