this is a webquest. It will help you with Unit 5. Everything you need to know will be in here, BUT if you have any questions, ask your teachers via E-Mail.

Hallo liebe Schülerinnen und Schüler,
das hier ist ein Webquest. Er wird euch mit Unit 5 helfen. Alles, was ihr wissen müsst, findet ihr hier, ABER falls ihr Fragen habt, schickt eurem Lehrer/eurer Lehrerin eine Email.
In dieser Unit werdet ihr lernen:
- euren Wohnort vorzustellen
- über das Wochenende zu sprechen
- über einen Ausflug zu sprechen
- einen Tagebucheintrag zu verstehen
- ein paar neue Informationen über Greenwich

Task
Your task is to make your way through Unit 5. On the "process" page, you find all the important steps. Take one step after another and take some time to understand. There is no need to hurry. You can do as much as you want in one day. You must finish Steps 1 and 2 on 3rd April.
After every step, answer a question in the "conclusion". If you have problems, there are some exercises to help you. Your teacher will give you the solutions.
Vocabulary: After each step you have to copy vocabulary into your vocabulary book and learn it. Repeat the vocabulary every day until you know all of them, BUT don't try to learn all of them at the same time. Make nice little packages (10-15 words).
Remember: You can always ask!
Deine Aufgabe ist es, Unit 5 durchzuarbeiten. Auf der Seite "process" findest Du alle Schritte, die Du nacheinander durchlaufen sollst. Mach einen Schritt nach dem anderen und lass Dir Zeit, Dinge zu verstehen. Es gibt keinen Grund, sich zu hetzen. Du kannst an einem Tag so viel machen, wie Du willst. Du solltest am 3. April mit den Schritten 1 und 2 fertig sein.
Nach jedem Schritt sollst du die Frage in der "Conclusion" beantworten. Wenn Du Probleme hattest, findest Du dort Aufgaben, um noch weiter zu üben. Dein Lehrer/Deine Lehrerin können Dir die Lösungen geben.
Vokabeln: Nach jedem Step sollst Du Vokabeln in dein Vokabelheft abschreiben und sie lernen. Wiederhole die Vokabeln jeden Tag bis Du alle kannst, ABER versuche nicht sie alle auf einmal zu lernen. Mach dir schöne kleine Päckchen (10-15 Wörter).
Denk dran: Du kannst immer fragen!
Process
Step 1: Way in (über seinen Wohnort sprechen)
Open your book on page 90.
Look at the photos and read the texts. You can also listen to the texts here. Use the dictionary (https://en-de.dict.cc/) to look up words you don't understand.
1. Name the places. (p.90, No.1) - Write the sentences in your exercise book.
2. Listen to Holly (p.90, No.2; Audio here). Write the sentences in your exercise book.
3. Where I live (p. 91, No. 3). Write about your favourite place in your exercise book (Help: p.227).
4. Vocabulary: Copy the vocabulary on p. 222 (town-box & "old" - "to go swimming") into your vocabulary book and learn it.
5. Answer the first question on the "Evaluation"-page.

Step 2a: It's Monday morning (über letztes Wochenende sprechen)
Open your book on p. 92. Read or listen to the text and use the dictionary (https://en-de.dict.cc/) to look up words you don't understand.
1. Complete the sentences (p. 92, No.2) in your exercise book.
2. Listening: (p. 92, No.3a; Audio here) What are Dave's activities for the weekend? Make list like this:

3. Make a mind map (p. 93, No. 4).
4. Write sentences (p. 93, No. 5a) about what you can do in your town. Look at your mind map for help.

Step 2b: Language Detectives - Simple Past
Look at p. 94+95.
1. Watch the tutorial on YouTube (simple past).
2. Practice the simple past (p. 94, No. 8) Look at the pictures and and write sentences.
Help: p. 141.
Extra: p. 94/8b.
3. Put in the right verb (No. 9 on p. 94). Write sentences in your exercise book.
4. Match the sentences (p. 95, No.10). Careful: These verbs are irregular (unregelmäßig)!
5. Talk about birthdays (p. 95 No. 11a). Write the sentences in your exercise book.
Help: p. 142.
Extra: p. 95, No. 11b). Write about your last birthday party. Write at least five sentences.
6. Final step (p. 95, No. 11a): Write 5 sentences about your last weekend.
Help: p. 228.
7. Vocabulary: Copy the vocabulary on p.222 "morning" - p. 223 "happy" into your vocabulary book and learn it.
8. Answer the second question on the "Evaluation"-page.

Step 3a: Day trip to Margate (über einen Ausflug sprechen)
Open your book on p. 96. Read or listen to the text and use the dictionary (https://en-de.dict.cc/) to look up words you don't understand.
1. Put the sentences in the right order (p. 96, No. 2a).
Help: p. 142.
Extra: p. 96, No. 2b).
2. How can you get to other places? Make a list of transport words (maybe you want to use the dictionary).

Step 3b: Language Detectives - Simple Past Questions
Look at p. 98+99.
1. Watch the tutorial about questions in the simple past.
2. Ask questions about last weekend (p.98, No. 8a).
Help: p. 143.
Extra: p. 98, No. 8b).
3. Ask more questions (p.98, No. 10; p. 99 No. 11a - at least 4 questions).
Help: p. 143.
Extra: p. 99, No. 11b).
4. Complete the dialogue (p. 99, No. 12). (maybe you want to watch the tutorial again).
5. Your turn - My day trip:
a) Think of a day trip to a town. It can be a fantasy trip. Make notes. (p. 99, No. 13a; Help: p. 228).
b) Practice: Try to talk about your trip for 45 seconds. You can practice in front of a mirror if you want.
6. Vocabulary: Copy the vocabulary on p. 223 "transport"-box - p.224 "I'd like (to)..." into your vocabulary book and learn it.
7. Answer the third question on the "Evaluation"-page.
