Introduction

Welcome, class! I hope that you will look at this webquest as an online scavenger hunt. If you haven't completed a webquest for any of your other classes, don't worry. Just take your time to read the directions and follow them step-by-step. Before you know it, you'll be a cellular expert on the human body! Best of luck with your journey!

Task

When you have completed this webquest, you will be able to:


  • Identify and know the location and function of the major body organs and systems (circulatory, respiratory, muscular, skeletal, digestive).(5th Grade Standard 10.1.3.B)

Process

Webquest Journey #1 - Living in the Lungs

1. Click the lungs above to visit Kidshealth.org.

2. Click on the major organ of the respiratory system which we discussed in class today.

2. Watch the video, "Lungs & Respiratory System."

4. Select "Activity," and take a screenshot of the worksheet.

5. Open the screenshot in the Notability app on your iPad.

6. Complete the lung diagram by labeling the appropriate parts of the lungs.

7. Submit to Schoology dropbox called "Lungs Diagram."

8. Go back to http://kidshealth.org/en/kids/center/htbw-main-page.html and take the quiz (you may work alone or with a partner).

9. When finished, upload a screenshot of your score to the Schoology dropbox called "Lungs Quiz."

Webquest Journey #2 - Have Some Heart!

1. Click the heart above to access Kidshealth.org.

2. Select the organ that keeps the circulatory system in check.

2. Watch the video, "Heart & Circulatory System."

4. Click on "Activity," and take a screenshot of the worksheet.

5. Open the screenshot in the Notability app on your iPad.

6. Complete the heart diagram by labeling the appropriate parts of the lungs.

7. Submit to Schoology dropbox called "Heart Diagram."

8. Go back to http://kidshealth.org/en/kids/csmovie.html?WT.ac=en-k-htbw-main-page-c and take the quiz (you may work alone or with a partner).

9. When finished, upload a screenshot of your score to the Schoology dropbox called "Heart Quiz."

10. In your science journal, select one of the following questions to answer in 4-6 sentences:

-Which system do you feel is more important, the respiratory system or the circulatory system?

-How do the circulatory system and respiratory system work together?
